The first individuals that could be classified as Halflings didn't look all that different to the humans, as it was pretty early in their transformations to notice any big differences.
They are shorter than regular humans, they have bigger feet to better detect vibrations and feel the differences in the ground, and to get better footing during combat and exploration.
The smallest shoe size of halflings is bigger than the average human shoe size.
