Hirohiko is the Vampire King, leader of the Vultures.
Background
Once a venerated Nojoan scholar and Samurai, Hirohiko ruled over the island of Yomizuki as its Shogun.
After coming across an ancient artifact that granted him incredible inhuman powers, he tried to take over the entirety of Nojo.
The first of the Vampires, he created an army of ghouls, terrorizing the land and leaving only death and destruction in his wake.
For years his power remained unchallenged, until a group of sun warriors lead by the Tokugawa shogunate brought him down and exiled him from the land.
He was cast into the ocean in a wrought iron coffin on a purpose-built ship, in a room flooded with water, with mechanisms that would keep the water moving throughout his stay in the treacherous waters of the pacific.
By a sick twist of fate, instead of the ship being destroyed by the typhoons, cursing him to the endless depths of the ocean, after decades, the ship beached itself in Seichesaria.
The locals, not knowing what the ship contained and unable to decipher the Nojoan language, accidentally freed Hirohiko from his sarcophagus, unleashing his terror into the world once more.
Actions during the First Plague
Taking advantage of a weakened society brought about by Vermin's actions, he started to build his ghoul army once more.
Coming across scriptures that detailed the theoretical existence of the vampires, he realized the true extent of his powers, figuring out that under certain conditions, his victims could instead be turned into something like him, a vampire, while keeping his control over them.
Now, without having to be bound by the unreliable and mindless ghoul horde, his potential grew to an immense size.
He took over a region of the Eastern Continent, deposing the Monarch and installing himself as the sole ruler of Sulia.
From there, no one could stop his endless rule, no one except the sun warriors of Nojo.

- Despite being weak to sunlight, he isn't harmed by it alone, it needs to be concentrated, either in a weapon or in an attack
- Being in sunlight still weakens him however
- He is the Champion of Death, and is set to replace him should the current God of Death lose his powers, or is weakened in any way. Due to this, The God of Death wants him gone.
