Luna, The Night Mother

Luna is the patron deity of The Ravens.

Background

Luna is part of a pantheon called "The New Gods", a race of divine beings created from mere mortals through ritual sacrifice and the desecration of the temple of an Old God.

Luna, once an orphan child begging in the streets for scrap food and meager coin, she witnessed the assassination of a Prince.

Being the sole witness, the assassins couldn't let the child go, but their strict moral code stopped them from harming innocents so they decided to raise her as one of their own.

Luna quickly took to the ways of the assassins, plotting and carrying out hits as her elders demanded, but soon grew disillusioned in their ways of killing for money, and left the order where she grew.

Wandering around as a wayward soul, she helped people that were like her, downtrodden, outcast, with nothing to lose, slowly amassing a following of her own.

When Vermin decided to release the first plague upon humanity, she took to taking care of the sick and dying, holding them in her arms as they passed, wishing that she could have done more to help,

but soon the plague overtook her, slowly rotting her from the inside.

As her dying wish, she wished to be interred in a Temple of Life, so that at least her spirit would be healed.

In bringing plague into a Temple of Life, they had desecrated the temple, and the circumstances around her internment remains a mystery, but it is known that a ritual was performed, creating in her a new deity,

The Doctor Saint Luna, Matron of the Night.

Her new-found power and knowledge in health, she founded the Ravens, at first a group of doctors tasked with helping rid the world of plague, slowly evolving into an order of fighters hell bent on attacking

the source of the plague itself, Vermin.
